'Five Night at Freddy's' director Gil Kenan continues teasing fans on his social media accounts by posting images of possible animatronics to be used in his upcoming horror adaptation. Scott Cawthon's addition to the franchise is also announced for release on 2016.

It's been several months since news exploded of a big-screen adaptation for creator Scott Cawthon's popular horror game centered on murderous animatronic animals. When 'Poltergeist' and 'Monster House' director Gil Kenan was officially confirmed to helm the 'Five Nights at Freddy's' movie for Warner Bros., he had since been bombarded by curious enquiries regarding the film's possible plot as well as characters involved.

According to Screen Crush, the games employed the foolproof jump scare tactic to keep players on the edge of their seats. It also exploited the general fear of the unknown, fear of the dark, and even claustrophobia where the player is kept in a dark room, unable to move, equipped with only a series of security cameras to keep him safe until the end of his horrifying nightshift as a guard in Freddy Fazbear's Pizza.

There are four main evil animatronics featured in the games namely the titular Freddy Fazbear and his companions Foxy, Bonnie and Chica. Although Kenan didn't specify which ones will be included in his film, he admitted that he would be using real animatronics in place of special effects to lend his adaptation more realism. He continues to post images of these possible animatronics on his Twitter page while offering no further updates on what he has done so far.

There are currently four games available in the survival horror series. The first was released on August 2014 and met surprising critical success in the gaming community. Three other sequels followed ending with 'Five Nights at Freddy's 4' in July 2015.

Cawthon recently announced an addition called 'Five Nights at Freddy's World' scheduled to be released in 2016. The developer admitted that it will not be part of the series but instead will be a role-playing game of its own. Cinema Blend suggests that the upcoming game may feature the same characters but will be more of a relaxed game for kids in comparison to the scary ones in the FNAF series.

'Five Nights At Freddy's' is a planned horror film by Warner Bros. Pictures based on the popular indie horror game of the same name. The film has yet to have an official release date and is currently in development, according to IMDB.
