The cast of Legends of Tomorrow attended the New York Comic Con and spilled some interesting details about the upcoming "Arrow" and "The Flash" spinoff. Reports indicated that the new series will be like "Star Trek" as it will involve time travel while the superheroes try to stop anomalies in history.

Showrunner Phil Klemmer sat down with ComingSoon.net together with some cast members including Brandon Routh, Ray Palmer/The Atom in the series, Ciara Renee, who plays Hawkgirl, and Arthur Darvill, who plays the time traveller named Rip Hunter. According to them, the new CW series will involve a lot of time traveling, considering the involvement of Darvill's character, who puts the odd mix of superhero and villains together to stop the evil plans of Casper Crump's Vandal Savage.

Superhero fans can expect a more epic and a little bit of "Star Trek" feel in the show since their mission is to travel through time, trying to prevent anomalies from happening in the past. The show will also see Wentworth Miller's Captain Cold and Dominic Purcell's Heatwave from "The Flash" and Falk Hentschel as Carter Hall/Hawkman.

Recent reports also confirmed that "Arrow" villain Damien Darhk, played by Neal McDonough, will be in the premiere season of "Legends of Tomorrow." In an exclusive interview with ComicBook.com, McDonough said teased his appearances in both "The Flash" and the upcoming spinoff.

"You go back to the League -- I did an episode of Legends last week -- and I look exactly the same in 1975 but you see he's not as confident and doesn't have such an agenda forty years ago as he does now," McDonough said.

He added, "So it's fun to play the different times, you know? Going back in time with Legends, and The Flash, with The Flash, I'm just this crazy, fun, enjoy everything while I kill everybody type of character. It's just nuts."

A new Firestorm actor also awaits the fans of the DC series as Franz Drameh reportedly replaced Robbie Amell's Ronnie Raymond. Drameh is set to play the role of Jay Jackson, a frustrated pro football player who will be affiliated with the STAR Labs crew, Screen Crush reported.

"Legends of Tomorrow" is already gearing up for its premiere with, tapping both familiar and new faces in the DC small screen universe to create a bit of a "Star Trek" show. The superhero series is expected to drop on January.
