Sony Mobile has revealed a list of devices included in its roadmap for the much-anticipated Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. Sony has enlisted a total of 14 lucky devices including Xperia Z5, Xperia Z4 Tablet, Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z2, among others.

Amid the series of revelations both from mobile carriers and device manufacturers on which of their smartphones and tablets will be receiving the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update, Sony is the latest tech brand to release a list of its devices for its software update plans. The Japanese tech giant has been in rumors recently about the imminent upgrade.

In a post by Sony Mobile's official blog site, it is confirmed that Android 6.0 Marshmallow is rolling out to 14 Sony Xperia devices, as follows:

1.     Sony Xperia Z5
2.     Sony Xperia Z5 Compact
3.     Sony Xperia Z5 Premium
4.     Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet
5.     Sony Xperia Z3+
6.     Sony Xperia Z3
7.     Sony Xperia Z3 Compact
8.     Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact
9.     Sony Xperia Z2
10.   Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet
11.   Sony Xperia M5
12.   Sony Xperia C5 Ultra
13.   Sony Xperia M4 Aqua
14.   Sony Xperia C4

The blog post underscored that Sony Mobile is working hard to take along the major Android software update to as many of its devices as possible and as quickly as it can. Further, the company is very much excited about its new features and improvements made to user experience to incorporate with Google's.

However, the smartphone manufacturer has not yet released any official word on the exact release date of Android 6.0 Marshmallow to its devices. It noted that software releases come in stages so timing and availability varies according to region and/or carrier.

Meanwhile, other smartphone manufacturers like Samsung, HTC, Google, LG, and Motorola have already released to public their upgrade plans for their devices. T-Mobile on the other end is the first mobile carrier in the US to announce a list of devices ready for Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow will offer key features and enhancements, allowing users to exercise greater control over app permissions; purchase easily and securely with fingerprint support and Android Pay; experience enhanced battery-life through Doze; and redesigned App Drawer.
