Telltale Games is gearing up towards the launching Minecraft Story Mode, a narrative-focused spinoff of the widly popular sandbox game as it officially announces the game's schedule of releases next month. New details on the title's world, characters, and over-all gameplay have also been revealed.   

According to Digital Trends, the game developer confirms that the digital release of the first episode of Minecraft Story Mode dubbed as 'The Order of the Stone' is set on October 13. The episode will be launched on PC and Mac from Telltale Online Store, Steam.

It will also be distributed on PlayStation Network for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 and Xbox Games Store for Xbox One and Xbox 360. Similar to Telltale's other games such The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones, next four eposides will premiere weeks after launch of the first.

On the other hand, the retail version of Minecraft Story Mode will include the first episode on disc, and gamers can download the succeeding episodes via Season Pass. The season premiere will be made available for compatible iOS devices via App Store, Android devices via Google Play and Amazon Appstore beginning October 15th. The series will also hit Wii U and PlayStation Vita. 

Minecraft: Story Mode will allow gamers to play either a male or female hero named 'Jesse' and take on a risky adventure in the Overworld, through the Nether, to the End, and beyond. Players and their friends behold the legendary Order of the Stone: Warrior, Redstone Engineer, Griefer, and Architect; slayers of the Ender Dragon.

But upon reaching EnderCon to meet Gabriel the Warrior, Jesse's friends find out that something is not right. Amid terror, the team is out on a mission to find The Order of the Stone in order to save the world from a complete ruin.

The season will feature voice actor Patton Oswalt as male Jesse, Catherine Taber as female Jesse, Brian Posehn, Ashley Johnson, Scott Porter, Martha Plimpton, Dave Fennoy, Corey Feldman, Billy West, and Paul Reubens. Details on the next casting for the season are yet to be announced by Telltale games, Gaming Target noted. 

As what Telltale Games co-founder and CEO Kevin Bruner said, "We've worked closely with the amazing team at Mojang to ensure this story is a natural fit for the Minecraft world fans already know and love." 

"As Jesse, players will steer their own path through a tale of adventure and survival; all brought to life by an all-star cast. Through Telltale's choice-based gameplay and a story spanning from the Nether to the Farlands, the End, and beyond, we can't wait for fans to experience this new take on the beloved world of Minecraft,"  Bruner added. 

Minecraft: Story Mode first episode digital release will be out on October 13 for PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, PC, iOS and Android devices while Season Pass bundled retail editions for consoles will be launched on October 27.
