Android 5.1.1 Lollipop for AT&T's LG G Flex 2 Out Now!

AT&T's LG G Flex 2 units are officially getting the official Android 5.1.1 Lollipop firmware over-the-air (FOTA) update. First rolled out last September 2, the update releases to units with model number H950.

AT&T finally rolled out the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop to its units of LG G Flexx 2, bringing with it a few tweaks and improvements. The software update needs a good Wi-Fi connection and has to be charged up to at least 50 percent to prevent interruption.

Android 5.1.1 Lollipop software version will bring in improved OS software design, Android factory reset protection, improved settings, enhanced notifications, screen pinning, new recent apps, share your device, better visibility for Recents and Calendar, and device security improvements.

AT&T shall be releasing the update in stages. If notified by the carrier, just tap "Continue" to proceed with the installation. Then follow onscreen instructions until message Update Complete will pop up.

There is no expected impression to settings and data, users are advised to back up media files to an SD card, PC or any storage app before proceeding to the installation. If Google has not released the latest Android Lollipop version yet, here's a guide for manual download of Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

1.     Go to Settings from app tray or pull down menu.

2.     Select More.

3.     Select About Device.

4.     Select Software Info.

5.     Follow onscreen instructions.

To verify the update, just head over to Settings > About Device > Software Info. After the update, the software version should now be H95011z and build number should now be LMY47S. The update only needs 47.3 MB.

AT&T's Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 was last updated on July 2 with Android 4.4.4 KitKat. It is the first mobile carrier in the United States to roll out the update to Galaxy Mega 2.

 AT&T already rolled out the Android 5.11 Lollipop to Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 with model number SM-T537A and Galaxy Mega 2. The update removes pre-loaded apps like WatchON, Beats Music, and Famigo.
