The much adored mammals, Diego, Manny, Sid, and Scrat will try to survive the Paleolithic ice age once again in "Ice Age: Collision Course". The plot is rumored to revolve around the gang trying to run from the catastrophe caused by Scrat and his unwavering love for chestnuts. Casts from the previous films are set to reprise their roles.

Manny and the gang were first introduced to the fans in "Ice Age" (2002), subsequently followed by "Ice Age: Meltdown" (2006),  "Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs" (2009), and "Ice Age: Continental Drift" (2012).

All four predecessors of the upcoming film grossed $2.8 billion dollars, which is why it did not come as a shock when it was announced that another Ice Age film is to be released soon. However, bad news is, it will be the last installment in the successful franchise.

The movie is said to pick up where Continental Drift left off. In the movie, fans will find the adorable gang along the beach where Sid is busy working his tone deaf line. Diego gets irritated, while Manny still tries to sleep. Later, Manny finally gets fed up with all the ruckus and begins to shout "QUIET!". Soon after, everybody hears a cracking sound, and immediately know that it has something to do with Scrat's love for chestnuts.

Although details are pretty scarce as of now, reports have been released  that the voice actors in the previous films are said to reprise their respective characters. Ray Roman will be back to play the role of Manny, Denis Leary is also set to reprise the role of Diego, while John Leguizamo and Chris Wedge will be voicing the characters Sid and Scrat respectively.

Famous celebrities who were part of the cast in the previous film are Jennifer Lopez, Drake, and Nicki Minaj. There are no reports yet as whether or not they'll be reprising their roles.

Ice Age: Collision Course is set to be directed by Mike Thurmeier, along with Galen T. Chu, and written by Michael J. Wilson. Look for it in theaters on July 15, 2016.
