MCU will soon open its mystical world with the upcoming movie, Doctor Stange. New casting rumors have surfaced about actress Rachel McAdams joining the cast and taking the lead female role. On the other hand, Kevin Feige has revealed that the upcoming film might differ from the comic books.

Fans will soon witness Doctor Strange fight against the mystical villains with actor Benedict Cumberbatch to play the titular role. After weeks of persistent cast rumors that Tinda Swinton will be joining the cast as Strange's mentor, The Ancient One, Chiwetel Ejiofor is also rumored to play as his nemesis, Baron Mordo. It now seems like the list continues as Rachel McAdams is said to be playing a female lead role.

Unfortunately, there are no reports yet as to the specific role McAdams might be playing in the movie. But various theories have surfaced and suggested that she is likely to play the role of either Clea or Morgana Blessing. If ever McAdams ends up playing the role of Clea, another character who might also make an appearance in the movie is Dormammu, as Clea serves as his neice and close disciple.

Another character that McAdams might play is the writer, Morgana Blessing. It is reportedly more likely that McAdams might play the role of Blessing as the character is also associated with Baron Mordo, who as mentioned above, is rumored to be played by Ejiofor.

Meanwhile, Marvel President Kevin Feige has revealed that a couple of changes might be implemented in the film compared to the comics. One of the changes might be the location of Strange's "Sanctum Sanctorum".

"The Sanctum is on Bleeker Street, the modern day Bleeker Street. He will be the strangest thing walking out onto that street," Feige said. In the comics, the Sanctum was located in Greenwhich, NY. However, Greenwhich today reportedly look a lot different from the setting in the 1960s comics.

Another apparent change is the fact that Marvel has chosen a different gender and ethnicity for The Ancient One. In the comics, The Ancient One was an old male, Asian man, but in the film, it is rumored to be played by actress Tinda Swinton. About the casting for The Ancient One, Feige said they view character as a mantle, rather than a person with specific characteristics.

"As we were developing this film we looked at The Ancient One as a mantle more than a specific person. The sorcerers have been around for millennia, protecting us from things we didn't know about until this story. There have been multiple [Ancient Ones], even if this one has been around for five hundred years, there were others. This is a mantle, and therefore felt we had leeway to cast in interesting ways." Feige said.  Swinton's involvement in the project has not been confirmed yet.

Doctor Strange is set to be directed by Scott Derrickson, and screenplay by Thomas Dean Donnelly, Joshua Oppenheimer, and Jon Spaihts. It is set to hit theaters in November 04, 2016.
