Thor 3: Ragnarok is still years away from its release date but plot theories have surfaced as to the possible events that might happen in Asgard during their dreaded apocalypse. Details about the cast and crew are scarce as of the moment, but Kevin Feige recently assured fans that some of their queries will soon be answered.

Slated to hit theaters 2 years from now, the progress for Thor 3: Ragnarok has been moving little by little. But even with the shortage of officially announced details, fans' excitement seem to be impossible to hide as theories have emerged about the character of  Thanos and his role in the imminent rough phase for Asgard.

In the "Avengers: Age of Ultron", Thanos was seen deciding to take things into his own hands and gather all the Infinity gems all by himself. Many now believe that Thanos might either do the dirty work of engaging a war against the gods of Asgrad by himself, or use the fire giant, Surtur, to face the gods, since in the previous films, Thanos was seen using other villains to do the job of getting the Infinity gems for him but they still ended up failing to do so.

Meanwhile, although rumors were pretty persistent in the previous weeks that Kenneth Branagh might direct the upcoming film, Marvel Studios' president, Kevin Feige, recently admitted that Branagh is not sitting in the director's chair. When asked about Branagh, Feige said that the rumors were "not true" and added that he doesn't know where the rumor came from.

He also added that the announcement about the director and the writers might be made by the end of summer. "[P]robably towards the end of the summer we would announce a filmmaker and a writer. May be the same person, I don't know, may be two different people." he said.

Although it might seem to be a long wait, fans might have to contain their excitement and wait for the end of summer to get more cast and crew updates. Chris Hemsworth is set to come back to reprise his role as Thor and Tom Hiddleston as Loki for Thor 3: Ragnarok. It is set to hit theaters in November 03,2017.
