"Once Upon A Time" season 5 will surely revolve on the mission to bring back Emma to being good again as she is now the new Dark One after the events in last season's finale. But aside from this major plot, there are other stories that need more airtime as well including Maleficent's and Lily's.

Good thing is, the story of the estranged mother and daughter is on the list of plots that will be highlighted next season of "Once Upon A Time," as per the series' executive producer Edward Kitsis' interview with Entertainment Weekly.

Kitsis said however, that the search for the real father of Lily, played by Agnes Bruckner, will start after the first five episodes of "Once Upon A Time" season 5.

"We intend to tell that story at some point this season," Kitsis said. "We set it up for a reason. That is one we are definitely intending to do."

Fans of the hit fantasy series have been wondering who could be Lily's father. We previously reported that the diehards are eyeing another series lead star as the wizard Merlin, who is theorized as the one who impregnated Maleficent in dragon form.

The Charmings, played by Ginnifer Goodwin and Josh Dallas, together with Hook, played by Colin O'Donoghue will be on a mission to find Merlin in order to save Emma after becoming the new Dark One.

Showrunner Adam Horowitz said that Jennifer Morrison's portrayal as Evil Emma will be different from Rumplestiltskin, played by Robert Carlyle, since the Dark One manifests differently to each person, reports Christian Post.

To provide some form of a silver lining to the dark season ahead, Horowitz says, "We are going to be exploring love and what happens when you use it as a weapon and what are the things that it makes you do. In the past, we've said love is the most powerful magic of all. It makes you do many things you normally wouldn't think you would."

Aside from dealing with Jennifer Morrison's transformation as the new Dark One, "Once Upon A Time" season 5 will also focus on the hunt for Lily's father. Fans of the ABC hit series will be seeing more of Storybrooke's characters when the show returns on September 27.
