Although the movie's plot is still being worked on, fans should probably start  savouring every cameo or lead appearances of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, as he revealed that his upcoming third wolverine movie, which has not been given an official title yet, will be the last time he's going to play the role. But even before his movie hits theaters, he said he's open to playing cameo roles.

Wolverine 3's plot is still being developed, but the movie's writer David James Kelly is reportedly refreshing his memory of Wolverine's original story as he's  looking back to the one written in the comics. Of course, Hugh Jackman will play as Wolverine, and the movie will still be directed by James Mangold.

But it is reportedly the last time Jackman will play Wolverine. In an interview with Doctor Oz,  actor Hugh Jackman revealed that he has officially decided to end playing Wolverine, "This will be my last one," he said. "It just felt like it was the right time to do it. And let's be honest, 17 years. I never thought in a million years it would last, so I'm so grateful to the fans for the opportunity of playing it. I kind of have in my head what we're going to do in this last one. It just feels like this is the perfect way to go out." he added.

This revelation confirms rumors earlier this year that he's quitting the role, when he tweeted, "WOLVERINE ...ONE LAST TIME. HJ"

Meanwhile, Jackman might (or might not) go for a cameo role for Deadpool. Ryan Reynolds, who plays Deadpool, shared that he's hoping for Deadpool and Wolverine to cross paths in his upcoming film. When asked about a possible Wolverine cameo for his movie, Reynolds said "God I hope so, that would be really nice, I dunno, we'll see. It seems like he's open to it, but it's gonna be more of a scheduling issue than anything else."

Jackman also seem to agree with the idea as he said in an interview that Deadpool and Wolverine will make a very interesting mix,  "[Wolverine and Deadpool] are definitely enemies in the comics, and they always spark off well together, so I'd be open to that idea," Jackman said.

Hugh Jackman is reportedly working on X-Men: Apocalypse as of the moment, and Wolverine 3 will be the last time he's playing Wolverine, since 2000. The upcoming Wolverine movie will also be the last instalment for the Wolverine trilogy. Wolverine 3 is set to hit theaters in 2017.
