Fans of Grey's Anatomy are still recovering over the sudden and unexpected death of Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey) in the previous season. The tragic death of "McDreamy" left fans of the ABC drama devastated.

There are now reports in the Grey's Anatomy Season 12 Spoilers that show creator Shonda Rhimes is now regretting her decision for killing off the beloved Grey's Anatomy character. Many infuriated fans have took to Twitter and called out Rhimes for the character's pointless death. The fans were furious and said that Rhimes didn't take their feelings into consideration when she killed off Derek Shepherd.

Rhimes would later post her farewell tweet to Patrick Dempsey, following the season finale of Grey's Anatomy. Dempsey had been a series regular for 11 seasons and his departure from the show came as a shock for many fans.

"Here come my own personal supply of tissues. Goodbye birthday twin. Can't believe this is his last scene I'll ever see in my editing room," Rhimes posted on her Twitter

Fans of the show are still hoping that McDreamy's departure was just a bad dream, and that Patrick Dempsey would be returning for Grey's Anatomy Season 12. However, that would seem unlikely since the actor wanted to leave the show to pursue new things.

"Then do not waste your valuable time tweeting me, boo," Rhimes posted on Twitter. "Go and do something fun that brings u joy!"

There is now talk that Katherine Heigl who played Izzie Stevens will be returning to the show. There were already reports that Izzie's ex-husband Alex Karev and Jo Wilson will be engaged in the next season. Will Izzie be returning in the next season to make peace with Alex?

Grey's Anatomy Season 12 will be returning to ABC in September.
