'Castle' season 7 is about to end, does it mean the series too? If you are keeping eye on announcements on renewal, the network has yet to give their answers regarding the show's fate. What about giving it as early as today? Perhaps, the network has been considering the things would happen to the current season finale before they speak out.

How will 'Castle' season 7 end? Perhaps, that's the question we are trying to figure out. But according to the show creator, the ending is not too hard to comprehend.  In an interview with TV Guide, show creator Andrew W. Marlowe explained that the team is going in a fairly predictable direction when it comes to wrapping up some stories, but leaving some room opens for others:

"Writing a season finale, not knowing if the show is coming back, is always a challenge ... [We] were looking for something where we could craft a story that if for some reason it ended up being the last Castle, we have some sense of conclusion. But the show also opens up a lot of avenues of storytelling with some of the dilemmas within the character as we head out of the season."

This is probably the right thing to do as we don't want to end the current season or perhaps the series with such a major cliffhanger. Can you imagine if it will?

In the same note also, a predictable ending may be good if the network is deciding to have 'Castle' season 8 renewed, as it means there will be an exciting season we could look forward to.

In terms of ratings, 'Castle' has maintained its composure. Though, it can be seen that the 'Castle' Season 7 ratings continues to fall. The last episode only garnered a total of 1.40 compared to episode 19 with 1.53 rating in 18-49 demo. As far as season is concerned, season 6 received a forgivable 2.0 with 10.18 million viewers, and for Season 7, as of today, has 1.6 ratings with 8.49 million viewers and still counting.

Meanwhile, recent reports for 'Castle' season 7 indicate that Stana Katic is leaving the show. If that is so, then, how will Season 8 begin?  Could fans embrace Nathan Fillion alone?
