As Elementary Season 3 begins its journey to the end of its 24-episode season, upcoming Episode 21 presents a murder case that would require Sherlock and Watson to dig deep into the killing of two kidnapped paramedics all the while keeping their relations as puzzling as ever.

In the IMDb description of the "Under My Skin" episode, the crime investigation duo joins the manhunt to find the murderer and an abducted woman only to face perplexing evidence.

In the episode teaser released by CBS and seen on Spoiler TV a murder victim turns up missing a few of her organs.

As Holmes characteristically dissects the evidence, he warns Watson to "Never underestimate mankind's passion for violence and mayhem." 

Meanwhile, Holmes will learn something about his recovery sponsor, Alfredo played by Ato Essandoh that puts a strain on their relationship.

CBS describes the season as an exploration of the bond between the Lucy Liu's Dr. Joan Watson and Johnny Lee Miller's Holmes - oftentimes making leaps and bounds, at times with setbacks, with Liu's character losing a love and Miller's Sherlock being forced to face his dark past.  

The finale of Elementary's 24-episode season is scheduled to air on May 14.

Television's take on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's classic characters has Sherlock Holmes leaving London for urban Manhattan after a stint in rehab. Holmes' father gets former surgeon Dr. Watson to watch over Sherlock, herself grappling with a past that had her giving up medicine after she loses a patient.

Former drug dependent-turned-police-consultant Holmes former surgeon-turned-helper-of-addicts Watson discover they can crack some of NYPD's most difficult cases.Elementary series ratings have been considered okay but not outstanding, and talk has been ripe about whether it should be given another season run.

Television history shows that completing Season 3 almost always assures a series a return to Season 4 for possible syndication.

Elementary Season 3 Episode 21 airs on CBS this Thursday, April 23, at 9pm.
