NCIS Season 12 Finale episodes might be killing off a character from the team as it wraps up the season this May.

Cartermatt reported the possibility after receiving the leak of the synopsis of the May 12 finale episode released by CBS which tells of how "NCIS feverishly investigates a global terrorist group that is recruiting teens via the Internet, following a deadly bombing overseas that results in an emotional and surprising loss for the team."

While CBS has not confirmed the "loss for the team" is indeed the killing of a character, the finale episode is expected to end the NCIS investigation into the cyber-terrorism that is recruiting teenagers over the internet and purchasing bombs in the black market.

Meanwhile, TV Line has also been reported that the final two Naval Criminal Investigative Service episodes will have Mimi Rogers playing a Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) officer in a situation that challenges head on the Washington Navy Yard investigation team of Mark Harmon's character Leroy Jethro Gibbs.

The presence of the CIA in the NCIS finale is seen as a signal of a major conflict that gets the attention of multiple branches of government.

Rogers will appear in the two finale NCIS episodes, "The Lost Boys" airing May 5, and "Neverland" airing May 12.

Rogers more recently appeared on Mad Men, Two and a Half Men, Bosch, and The Loop.

NCIS stars Harmon as the Special Agent In Charge, Michael Weatherly as the second in command Anthony DiNozzo, Pauley Perette as forensic specialist Abby Sciuto, David MacCallum as Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Donald Mallard, Sean Murray as agent Timothy McGee, and Emily Wickersham as probationary agent Eleanor Bishop.

The 12th NCIS season series premiered on television in September 23, 2014.

NCIS Season 12 Finale episodes are scheduled to air until May on Tuesdays at 8pm on CBS.
