It looks like Batman is going to appear in 'Suicide Squad' after all, at least according to the latest rumors regarding the production of the film. Speculations on the Dark Knight's appearance in Suicide Squad have been prevalent since the film was first announced, but until recently no one had any potential proof to back the idea up. The fact that the Joker, which will be portrayed by Jared Leto, will have a major role in the movie gives a hint that at some point, Batman will be included in the discussion.

Umberto Gonzalez, a writer for Latino-Review, revealed in his Instagram account how Batman fits in the Suicide Squad film. According to him, Batman in the DC movie universe is "some sort of big boogeyman" who is feared and despised by the government. His reports also indicate that Amanda Waller is trying to track down Batman, and since the only person who has ever had real contact with the Dark Knight prior to the events of 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' is the Joker, Amanda would be desperately aiming to work with him in order to learn more about Batman.

Additionally, Gonzalez also noted that the government believes that Batman is "the key to tracking down all the supers," and that they possess a video of the Dark Knight in action. It seems that one of the plot points of Suicide Squad would be Amanda Waller's campaign to get more information about the super-powered beings that would appear in 'Batman v Superman' so she can create a contingency plan in case the government would need to stop them.

If Batman is indeed going to appear in 'Suicide Squad' next year, it would not be the first time that the Dark Knight has crossed paths with this group of villains. The most recent adaptation of the Suicide Squad in the animated film "Batman: Assault on Arkham" featured the covert team of villains being confronted by the Dark Knight in Arkham Asylum after they attempted to steal the Riddler's staff.

'Suicide Squad' is scheduled to hit theaters on August 5, 2016.
