"The Walking Dead" Season 5 is about to return this year after the show's mid-season winter finale. The Rick Grimes and his group of survivor will head towards a new destination after the shocking revelations in the early episodes last year.

One of the much anticipated TV Series of the year, "Walking Dead" Season 5 is taking a different route in its return episode this year. AMC has just revealed some clues on where the plot of their TV hit show is heading. According to International Business Times, the TV network posted that their official poster has some hints on where Rick and his group will go in the second half of this season.

In their post, AMC stated that "The new artwork features the survivors heading down a deserted street where Abraham's note lies on the pavement, eluding to "a new world." The even added that "So this begs the question: Where will they go next with Washington D.C. no longer an option?"

Fans of the shows know that Eugene is not what he claims to be. He confessed in the previous episodes that he lied in the alleged cure in Washington D.C. and he is not a scientist who is part of the team that knows how to create the cure for the zombie apocalypse. His real intention was to lead the group to Washington D.C. where there is a presence of military force which can provide shelter to them and increase their survivability in the post-apocalyptic zombie infested world. According to FanSided, many fans will theorize that Rick's group will still head towards D.C. to see what has become of the nation's capital. However the recent poster may have offered a different route for the group.

Now this may lead the group to stray away from their initial goal of reaching D.C. and they may proceed to Atlanta where Noah's family is located. Some speculates that the group will head towards Alexandria Safe-Zone which is a major plot location in the "Walking Dead" comic book series.

In related news, AMC revealed a new trailer for the upcoming episodes of the season. However Carl, Judith, Father Gabrial and Noah are missing in the teaser video. But avid followers of the series know that they are alive after the events of the mid-season winter finale. According to iDigitalTimes, the trailer may raise questions on the future of some of the missing characters. A good example for this is Judith, who was supposed to be dead during the Governor's plot in the comic book series. But Carl will be most likely be alive since the show production intends to generally follow the plot of the "Walking Dead" comics.

"The Walking Dead" Season 5 will return on air this coming February 8, 2015 at AMC. Stay tuned for more spoilers in our future articles.
