"The Elder Scrolls Online" was initially released in Microsoft Windows PC and OS X last April 4, 2014. However Bethesda, the game developer, has delayed its release to Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Due to the popularity of "The Elder Scrolls Online", its release date for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 has been always a hot topic in the game industry. When Bethesda initially announced that they will delay the release of the game for the next-gen console last year, fans and gamers of the Massive Multiplayer Online Game has been wondering if it will ever get a console release.

The Fuse Joplin reported that "The Elder Scrolls Online" will be released on Xbox One this coming February 24, 2015. Around the same time, according to the report, Tesco has listed the game for a release in PlayStation 4 this July 31, 2015. However, another source for the said report says that there will be a June 2015 release for the game in next-gen consoles.

While a lot of rumors of the much anticipated Xbox One and PlayStation 4 release of "The Elder Scrolls Online" circulate in the web, Bethesda broke their silence and responded. Reportedly, Pete Hines, the Vice President for PR and Marketing for Bethesda, said that these rumors are false. He said that they haven't announced an official release date yet. However he kept mum on the exact release date and dismissed the rumors and speculations saying "Beyond that, I can't comment as we don't comment on rumors and speculation."

Fans and gamers of The Elder Scrolls Franchise will remember that the delay of the release of "The Elder Scrolls Online" in Xbox One and PlayStation 4 is due to the unexpected roadblock that Bethesda encountered when they released it in Microsoft Windows and OS X. Game Rant reports that there were a lot of bugs, gold spammers and flawed objectives in the game when it was released in PC last April 2014.

According to the report, Bethesda responded that they were having technical difficulties in hardware system and not the bugs and flaws in the game. They said that "Integrating our systems with each console manufacturer's networks-which are both different from the PC/Mac system as well as different from each other-has been a challenging process".

The game developer initially announced that they will need approximately six months in order for the "The Elder Scrolls Online" to be released on the next-gen consoles. That is why fans and gamers are getting anxious over the recent release date rumors.
