Taeyeon of Girls' Generation recently surprised fans as the idol went on an unfollowing spree on Instagram. What shocked fans the most is that Taeyeon even unfollowed her boyfriend, Baekhyun of EXO, allkpop reports.

According to the report, the SNSD leader narrowed her list down to 12 individuals including her fellow Girls' Generation members, Super Junior's Heechul, who is known as her close friend, as well as SM Performance Director and BeatBurger's Shim Jae Won, and choreographer Rino Nakasone Razalan.

Besides Baekhyun, some of the names Taeyeon unfollowed include EXO's Sehun and Tao, JYJ's Jaejoong, 2PM's Wooyoung, 2AM's Jo Kwon, Simon D, B2ST's Junhyung, as well as global celebrities, brands, and websites.

According to Koreaboo, fans noticed that the female idol begun by unfollowing Beats by Dre along with other brands. Next was former EXO member Luhan.

Fans, particularly SONEs (official fanbase of Girls' Generation), have mixed reactions and different interpretations of the matter. Some are worried that Taeyeon and Baekhyun might be having some problems in their relationship while other interpreted it as a move to avoid negative comments from the fans of the widely followed EXO member.

Earlier this year, Girls Generation and EXO's record label SM Entertainment, confirmed the rumored relationship of the two high profile idols. A representative from the ageny said "They had a close junior and senior relationship and recently starting dating." This has caused an unexpected outrage from fans.

Taeyeon took to Instagram to express her position, saying "I feel like no matter what I say right now, it could all be perceived differently," she wrote on June 19. "I'm not trying to explain myself, but rather I want to speak to you in the hopes that you would stop hurting at least one day earlier."

Baekhyun, meanwhile, explained to his fans. "All of you fans are not a light presence to me that just passes by" the EXO member said during their concert in Chongqing, China. "Each and every one of you is precious to me and gives me strength. I hope my sincere feeling gets to you."

The couple has since kept mum on the matter.
