Peel launches new redesign of app today, which specializes in conversations around your favorite TV show on social media like Twitter.

The app essentially makes television a social experience as an objective. Peel patented the app as intellectually property to make sure you are typing in the proper hashtag the next time Oprah offers advise on twitter.

Thiru Arunachalam, Founder and CEO at Peel explained to VentureBeat in a interview that "I'm a firm believer that the social TV market never existed or at the very least that it's dead." He continues with conviction: "I believe Twitter is the only true social TV [network] - or maybe Facebook as well."

Peel, with some partnerships with Samsung, HTC, and other companies last year now boast a 60 million user clientele of their Android smartphone app.

The company uses a algorithm that detects popular hashtags of your famous shows but also highlights new hashtags that has been posted spontaneously. The app integrated Twitter Card functionality that enables users to tune into their favorite TV Show directly on their TV from a simple click on a tweet.

Peel, founded in 2009, is head quartered in Mountain View California and has raised $42 million in funding from investors Translink Capital, Lightspeed Venture Partners, and more.
