Windy Hill Spirits Inc has secured $6.1 million in new equity, based on a document filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Windy Hill is the company that manufactures American Born Moonshine, according to The Tennessean.

Co-founder Sean Koffel said: "We are so humbled by the support we have received for American Born Moonshine in such a short time. Our goal has always been to provide consumers with a truly authentic moonshine and to see such a positive reaction is an enormous honor."

Among Windy Hill's popular brands are its corn whiskey flavor Apple Pie and the tea-flavored Dixie. The company is growing together with the booming spirits industry in Nashville, the report added.

Windy Hill was established by Koffel and Patrick Dillingham in 2012. In 2013, the company started marketing their product in Tennessee. Now, it has already tapped the market in Georgia. The firm is planning a nationwide expansion in the next couple of years, The Tennessean reported.
