WedBrilliant, a startup in Oregon, wants to help make wedding planning an easier process, according to Portland Business Journal.

Founder Melissa Wilmot explained how the startup began: "It dawned on me when I was buying a wedding gift and happened on wedding blogs. Brides were talking about how it would be great if there was a venue to state your needs and receive bids from vendors."

WedBrilliant is a website that helps anyone find wedding vendors easily to facilitate faster planning. Couples get to explain what they need for the occasion and vendors bid for those items. After a vendor is selected, the startup takes a 2% commission from the agreed price and gives the vendor the customers' contact details. After that, transactions will transpire between the vendor and the couple only, the report detailed.

What sets WedBrilliant apart from similar sites or magazines is that it functions as a one-stop platform for weddings, the report added.

After being live for one month, WedBrilliant has garnered over 50 members. Most of these members are vendors from 18 US states. Right now, Wilmot is pouring her efforts on widening the vendor network through social media. The startup has been self-funded by Wilmot herself, Portland Business Journal reported.
