Matterport announced that it is going to release a 3D modeling camera and service for professional photographers and real estate firms, according to Mercury News.

Chief Executive Officer Bill Brown said: "It will be like taking a movie. You can capture a place and explore it later."

Priced at $4,500, the commercial product is able to accurately recreate the dimensions of rooms or scenes, including the objects in them. The distinctive feature of this service is the ease that it provides customers in creating, editing, and viewing 3D models they have created through a Web browser, the report explained.

Matterport will launch a newer version of the technology that will allow users to edit objects in a captured scene, the report stated.

The Silicon Valley-based firm is presently marketing the camera through its website. As of now, Matterport is planning to include tourism, home decor firms, and legal and insurance firms in its future target customers for its new 3D modeling camera and service, Mercury News reported.
