London's keyring smartphone charger Popcord surpassses Kickstarter funding goal

Popcord, a compact and portable charger for smartphones, has achieved the £20,000 its crowdfunding target on Kickstarter. Still with five more days left for its campaign, the device has already raised £33,000 in funding, according to TechCrunch.

The small device boasts of an Apple Lighting connector and a micro USB for other smartphone units. Popcord is a handy charger that backs up smartphone battery when connected to a USB port, the report explained.

According to Stupid Dope, Popcord makes life more convenient because it eliminates the hassle of carrying charger cords and plugs that can become tangled anytime. Smartphone users now don't have to leave their phone while it is charging. Aside from that, Popcord can also function as a keyring holder, the report said.

The 4-inch keyring charger weighs around 12 grams. The device available colors of the Popcord are black, silver, red, and gold. A pink Popcord is currently in the works, TechCrunch reported.
