NoWait lets customers join restaurant wait lists from their mobile phones. The Pittsburgh-based app is releasing its consumer app nationwide. According to the company, the app cuts wait time from 90 minutes down to 5 minutes, wrote VentureBeat.

The firm launched a pilot of the said app in September. NoWait allows people to remotely add themselves to the wait lists of dining institutions. Using the app, they can monitor estimated wait times and the number of parties ahead of them. The app also has a feature that gives out incentives to customers who stay rather than transfer to another spot. The company plans to add more restaurants to its existing 42 markets, the report detailed.

Businesses that are included in the NoWait's network include Chili's, TGI Fridays, Jose Garces' Village Whiskey, Hubert Keller's Burger Bar, and Marc Vetri's Pizzeria Vetri, the report stated.

At present, NoWait is headquartered in Pittsburgh. It is backed with $2 million from Birchmere Ventures, Innovation Works, and Sand Hill Angels. The company's long-term plan is to extend its service to doctor's offices, beauty salons, and DMVs, VentureBeat reported.
