Indian travel booking website MakeMyTrip has purchased Dutch hotel booking portal EasyToBook. The acquisition deal is valued at around $5 million, according to TechCrunch.

Through the deal, MakeMyTrip is hoping to beef up its revenue earnings through online booking of hotels. The Indian firm is also looking to snag customers bound for Asia, the report detailed.

MakeMyTrip founder Deep Kalra said: "With the ETB acquisition, we are expanding our presence beyond South East Asia. One of our key company objectives is to continue growing the share of the hotels and packages business in our overall revenue mix."

MakeMyTrip is one of the first online businesses launched in India. The firm has been moving to step out beyond online travel and foray into markets outside of the country. In 2011, the travel booking site bought Singapore's Luxury Tours & Travels and Ixigo.com. In November of the same year, the firm also acquired Delhi-based MyGuesthouse Accommodations in a $1-million deal, TechCrunch reported.
