French hosting firm OVH just released an updated version of its product portfolio. Its cloud storage service called HubiC offers 25GB storage for no charge, 100GB for a monthly fee of $1.35 (€1) per month, and a 10TB plan that costs  $13.50 (€10) every month, according to TechCrunch.

Since its launching two years back, HubiC has indeed evolved into a service that can be an alternative for Dropbox. HubiC now has a desktop sync client, mobile apps, plus an API. However, it still lacks mainstream appeal, the report detailed.

HubiC is still a newcomer in the industry. Nowadays, every big firm has its own file hosting service. To gain some traction in the market, HubiC capitalizes on its prices. Unlike Dropbox, HubiC does not depend on Amazon S3. Rather, it has its own server with various data centers. Therefore, the service has lesser operating expenses, the report stated.

It is still not clear how long HubiC will maintain its 10TB plan. Customers can easily cancel the said service anytime, TechCrunch reported.
