Square Wallet's former technical lead David Byttow and Google's former product manager Chrys Bader-Wechseler are raising USD1.2 million for their new stealth startup called Secret, according to a report published by TechCrunch today.

Refusing to comment on either the startup or the funding round, Bader-Wechseler merely said: "Nothing is a secret these days."

Byttow was the designer behind the infrastructure for the Square-Starbucks partnership. He also previously worked as technical lead for Google+. Bader-Wechseler, on the other hand, came later into the picture after coming up with the Treehouse photo app and video service for Twitter called Vidly, the report said.

Bader-Wechseler was the force behind Google's entrance into the photo-sharing arena via Photovine. After it got folded, he joined the Google+ team, the report stated.

Secret's seed round reportedly includes investors such as Google Ventures, KPCB, and Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian. However, Bader-Wechseler did not confirm or comment any of those reports, wrote TechCrunch.
