American private equity firm Alinda Capital Partners on Monday said that it has agreed to buy Polish broadcast infrastructure firm Emitel from Montagu Private Equity, Reuters said in a report. Terms of the deal, however, were not disclosed. Sources told Reuters that the asset could fetch around 10 to 12 times EBITDA of between EUR65 million to EUR70 million. The deal could value the company at up to EUR840 million (USD1.1 billion).

According to Reuters, British investment firm Montagu bought Emitel in 2011 for EUR425 million. Emitel is an infrastructure for digital terrestrial television and radio in Poland.

Should the deal be successful, this would be Montagu's ninth exit from an investment in 18 months. It has returned nearly EUR2.2 billion to its investors at an average return of 2.5 times invested capital, the report said.

Meanwhile, Alinda Capital Partners is one of the world's largest infrastructure investment firms. It has USD7.8 billion in equity committed to investments in the sector, Reuters said.
