Breathometer Inc closed its seed funding round with nearly USD 2 million in capital commitments. Structure Capital VC and Dillon Hill joined the round. Lead investors Mark Cuban and others from ABC's hit show "Shark Tank" also gave USD 1 million worth of funds. Proceeds from the funds would be used to bump up manufacturing of the Breathometer device so that it could be marketed in the fall this year.

Breathometer Inc makes the world's smallest smartphone breathalyzer, Breathometer. This is a device that works together with a mobile app. All that a user needs to do is to use the Breathometer and plug into the audio jack of a smartphone to be able to measure one's blood alcohol concentration. The device allows those who had already imbibed alcohol to make wise decisions before getting behind the wheel of a car to drive.

The recent round of fundraising also allowed Breathometer to hire more people for its corporate management team. The new hires included Chief Finance Officer Matt Ackerman, Vice President of Marketing Brian Sturdivant, Vice President of Sales Matt Sammons and Vice President of Software Engineering Dave Bryand.
