Private equity firm Bessemer Venture Partners (BVP) backed technology firm Anaqua with a USD 25 million investment. As part of the funding, BVP Partner Bob Goodmand joined the Board of Directors of Anaqua. BVP Partner Alex Ferrara also joined the Anaqua Board of Directors as an observer. In July, Anaqua also received a growth equity investment from Insight Venture Partners.

Anaqua provides intellectual asset management (IAM) software and services to global companies. Their platform helps firms to not only grow but protect their intellectual property. This would include patents, inventions, trade secrets, trademarks and brands. There are over 20,000 clients in more than 100 countries which had been using Anaqua to manage intellectual assets worth about USD 500 billion. Its roster of clients include Ford, Microsoft and the Coca-Cola Company.

Bob Goodman said companies would have a strategic advantage if they manage trademarks well. He added, "Anaqua is a category leader with software that facilitates both the management and filing/renewal of these patents, and goes even further by offering strategies for extending patents. Simply put, Anaqua has identified a critical and growing need and their software gives customers a competitive edge. BVP is excited to fund their continued global expansion."
