Reports collated by information technology website The Next Web had showed that some of Apple Inc's iPhone 5s units showed a very unusual display. Some iPhone 5s owners got a blue screen of death display, which is an error screen only distinctive on Microsoft Corp's products.

Information technology website The Verge reportedly spotted the problem first. Users had posted threads on Apple's support community forum, as well as on Mac and Apple news aggregator site MacRumors. Some users had also posted their complaints on Twitter.

The Next Web report deduced that the error screen were caused by some iWorks apps, namely Pages, Numbers and Keynote. The report had not indicated whether contact had been made with Apple to ask for comment about the report.

The release of the new iPhone line and operating system iOS7 had been plagued with setbacks. Although 200 million devices had downloaded the iOS7, vulnerabilities of its lock screen password system and issues with iMessage had popped up. Shares of Apple declined 11% a week after the new iPhones were released. Apple's share price had to break above USD500 this year, which was way below the above USD700 price it was able to hit on September 2012.
