A Forbes report revealed that marketers can learn one very important lesson from Apple: Branding starts with consumers. Because Apple looked at customers wants, needs, desires and constraints that would determine their desire to purchase a product or not, the report said Apple was able to seduce the consumer's mind and address their issues. The company became innovative.

As a result of its branding, Apple was able to make it to top of the Most Powerful Brands list of Forbes and Interbrand. According to an Interbrand report, Apple was at number 36 on their list in 2000 and only had a brand value of USD 6.6 billion. Now, it currently had a brand value of USD 98.3 billion.

In India, however, Apple may not yet narrow the gap with market leader Samsung. Apple currently ranks eighth in the smartphone market in the country, according to a Bloomberg report. The iPhone 5C could start selling at USD 549 because Indian wireless providers don't give service contract subsidies for the iPhone.
