In an email interview with the Business Insider, Marc Ecko said he would be spending the USD 25 million investment received by his company Complex Media wisely. The 41 year-old fashion designer, philanthropist and serial entrepreneur started Complex Media as a print magazine in 2002. It has now become a lifestyle site for men. According to the Business Insider, Complex Media has a 90-million readership monthly and had become a profitable web enterprise.

When asked how the investment would be spent, Ecko said, "It will be spent wisely. LOL. In all seriousness, we intend to deploy it in a way that strengthens all of our stakeholders....  This time the sparks will be bigger, and the fire will burn stronger. More technology. More innovation. More video. More e-commerce. More delight and delivery of surpassing expectations - for our end user, and for our partners."

The USD 25 million investment came from the Iconix Brand Group. Some of the brands owned by Iconix include Rocawear, Ecko Unlimited and Umbro, the Business Insider reported.
