Susan Bennett, the woman who claimed to be the voice of the American Siri in Apple Inc's assistant app, told CNN she recorded nonsensical phrases and sentences for ubergeeks, as she called them, in July 2005. At that time, she did not know that her voice would be used as Siri. She would record the snippets for four hours a day every day.

When asked why Siri would sound ill-tempered at times, Bennett said, "There are some people that just can read hour upon hour upon hour, and it's not a problem. For me, I get extremely bored ... So I just take breaks. That's one of the reasons why Siri might sometimes sound like she has a bit of an attitude. Those sounds might have been recorded the last 15 minutes of those four hours."

Meanwhile, Apple's newest phone models, the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C still made it to the top three sellers for carriers AT&T, Sprint, Verizon and T-mobile in the United Sates. According to investment bank Canaccord Genuity, the 5S and 5C took first and second place as the top smartphone sellers for carriers AT&T and Sprint. For Verizon and T-Mobile, however, the 5C landed in third place, with Samsung's Galaxy S4 occupying second place. Both iPhones sold over 9 million units on the first three days of its launch.
