In an announcement made today, private equity movement One Thousand & One Voices (1K1V) said that it has established its first office in Africa. Michael Adiukwu, Navaid Burney and Merafe Moloto would be joining the movement as its new private equity team in their office located in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Hendrik Jordaan, President and Chief Executive Officer of 1K1V, said, "Navaid, Merafe and Michael are truly a world-class team, as they each bring a profound understanding of the economic landscape of sub-Saharan Africa and the private equity experience necessary to help us to realize these objectives through investments that can generate both prosperity for people across Africa and financial returns for the families involved."

Burney is a veteran with experience of over 20 years in private equity investment in Africa. Prior to his new role, he was Chief Operating Officer at Pangea Exploration (Pty) Limited. Moloto was a former Merrill Lynch associate in the firm's private equity group and a former financial analyst for Goldman Sachs. Adiukwu had working experience with the Central Bank of Nigeria, UBS Investment Bank and Merrill Lynch.
