Billionaire activist investor Carl Icahn would be meeting Apple Inc CEO Tim Cook on September 30 in New York. Expected to be discussed during the sitdown would be the future of the company and the possibility of increasing its stake in the maker of the iPhone and iPad.

The meeting stems from a tweet Icahn had made last August indicating his interest in the massive share buyback plan of the company. Early September, Icahn had confirmed he had purchased 'quite a bit' of stocl in Apple. He further added that his position in the company was 'a no-brainer.'

Icahn's stake in Apple had been projected to be worth around USD2 billion. This would make Icahn the single largest individual shareholder. He does not though, break the top ten largest shareholders overall in Apple.

In his tweet about the meeting, Icahn said, "Spoke to Tim. Planning dinner in September. Tim believes in buyback and is doing one. What will be discussed is magnitude."
