Huawei, Chinese telecommunications equipment manufacturer, had laid out plans to create 5,500 jobs in Europe within five years. The company has planned to expand its services in the continent, according to the newspaper China Daily last Saturday.

As the second largest maker of telecommunications equipment in the world, the company is set to offer solutions to European businesses. This was what Huawei Enterprise Business Group President of Marketing and Solutions Patrick Zhang confirmed with the state owned daily. He added that the company is projected to generate USD1 billion in the next three to five years.

The company is continuing with its plans of expansion into Europe despite allegations of anti-competitive behaviour lodged with the European Commission against the firm and its peer ZTE.

Zhang said, "Our expansion progress in Europe more growth potential than the United States, where we have encountered access difficulties due to some groundless reasons given by the American side."
