And they said Google is the haven for the intellectually superior but socially hindered.

According to a report from the Business Insider, a lot goes on in Google aside from improving their main product, the search engine. There are sex scandals and political intrigue that fill the halls of Googleplex. Working in the company, many have compared to a modern day 'Game of Thrones'.

One of the most recent scandals involved Sergey Brin, the married co-founder of Google and a younger employee. The woman had previously dated another Google executive. This though is not something that is new in Google, according to the news report.

Google's management style in handling relationships between employees are deemed 'permissive'. The BI report said that despite Google employees fawning all over one another, they do not use physical relationships to consolidate power in the company. One source told BI that power is accumulated by employees to what is termed as 'geo-political warfare.'

Google for its part did not respond to an email request for a comment from CNBC.com.

With all the relationships ongoing, Google has continued to expand its reach far beyond the search engine sphere. Amongst them is USD40 million on windmills, low income housing, dabbling in the energy spot market and beekeeping.
