In line with its closing of a Series B round funding, online collaboration and communication tools provider FuzeBox announced its appointment of David Obrand as its new Chief Executive Officer. Prior to his appointment, Obrand was Chief Customer Officer at social entreprise network Yammer. He would be replacing former CEO Jeff Cavins. Obrand told tech news site TechCrunch that former CEO Jeff Cavins will not participate in the operations at FuzeBox moving forward.

Obrand also disclosed to TechCrunch that aside from improving its global presence, particularly in Europe, it would seek to improve the FuzeBox user experience.
"Typically, the way it's done in this industry is a time-based model or limited functionality model, and the challenge in that, we believe, is that it doesn't really address the core tenant of driving a strong user experience. We provide individual users with the full breadth of our offering in the freemium model. This allows them to validate the strength of the user experience and the value they get from the service, before they convert and pay."

FuzeBox's new freemium model would award a user 60 days of unlimited US toll and all basic features for up to 25 participants for free. Basic features would include screen sharing, video and VoIP. Users would have the option to upgrade to Pro for USD8 or continue with the free use.

Obrand is confident that its new freemium model would set them apart as a brand that encourages strong user engagement.
