Kamcord, a startup company that allows gamers to record and share gameplay videos, had received another USD1 million seed funding. The fund came from Tencent and Innovation Works, among others. The new fund were received after the team got an accumulated USD1.5 million capital earlier.

Kamcord founder and CEO Matt Zitmann said that the latest infusion of capital came with a change in the company's direction. The startup is directed towards another destination for mobile gaming content. "We've seen what Twitch.tv and Machinima have been able to do and we've gotten a lot of email from users who just want to see more video content," said Zitzmann. "So we're building a solution that's more of a one-stop shop and rolling it out later this week," he further added.

The shift would seem peculiar for the San Francisco-based startup firm. Currently, gamers of Kamcord-enabled games can share their recorded content emails and social channels. The current approach had been serving the Kamcord pretty well. Zitmann said that the team had been mulling the move for quite some time. The company had wanted to amplify engagement by letting gamers see how their remote opponents are doing.
