McDonald's CEO Chris Kempczinski surprised fans this week by revealing his all-time favorite menu item — and it's not what many expected.
In a lighthearted video posted to his LinkedIn page, Kempczinski took part in a playful "McDonald's Menu Item Tournament," where he had to pick between some of the fast food chain's most popular offerings to find his personal winner.
The bracket included beloved classics like the Big Mac, Quarter Pounder with Cheese, Chicken McNuggets, Filet-O-Fish, and of course, the brand's iconic World Famous Fries.
At first, Kempczinski leaned toward the Egg McMuffin, saying it was a tough call between that and the Big Mac, TheNYLedger reported.
But as the tournament went on, fries quickly became his go-to pick, beating out the Egg McMuffin, McCrispy sandwich, and Filet-O-Fish.
"That's a hard one," he admitted when asked to choose between fries and McNuggets — before finally picking the McNuggets.

McDonald's CEO Picks Snack Wrap as Favorite
The showdown continued as McNuggets triumphed over McCrispy Strips, but the competition took a sweet turn when Kempczinski chose the Vanilla Cone next.
The cone went on to beat the classic Apple Pie, only to lose to the Quarter Pounder with Cheese.
According to FoxBusiness, in the end, it was a comeback victory for a fan-favorite item that recently made its return: the Snack Wrap.
"The winner is Snack Wrap!" the video concluded, crowning the revived menu item as the CEO's top choice.
The result came as a surprise to many fans online, especially since Snack Wraps only returned to McDonald's menus in July after nearly a decade-long hiatus.
Originally launched in the mid-2000s, the wraps developed a cult following before being discontinued in 2016.
Fans praised him in the comments for joining in on a trend usually reserved for regular customers rather than corporate leaders.
Snack Wrap now officially holding the title of the CEO's favorite, many fans say they'll be ordering one the next time.
