Disney+ is raising its prices once again, and many subscribers aren't happy about it. The streaming giant announced that starting October 21, monthly and annual costs for its plans will go up, marking the fourth price hike in four years.
The ad-supported Disney+ plan will jump by $2, bringing the monthly total to $11.99, while the ad-free Disney+ Premium option will rise $3 to $18.99 per month.
The annual subscription for the Premium plan will increase by $30, now costing $189.99 per year.
Hulu is also affected. The Hulu with ads plan will rise from $9.99 to $11.99 per month, though the ad-free version will remain at $18.99 per month, TechCrunch reported.
Additionally, ESPN Select will see a $1 increase, totaling $12.99 per month.
Disney's popular streaming bundles are also seeing price jumps:
- Disney+ and Hulu (with ads) bundle: from $10.99 to $12.99
- Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN Select (with ads): from $16.99 to $19.99
The latest price increase from Disney+ couldn't have come at a worse time. Just last week, the platform faced a wave of backlash after it temporarily pulled "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" from ABC.
The move sparked outrage online, with some subscribers even canceling their accounts in protest.

Disney+ Sees Profits, But Users Feel the Pinch of Higher Prices
When Disney+ first launched back in November 2019 at just $6.99 a month, it quickly became a fan favorite.
Packed with Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, and classic Disney titles, it was an easy sell for millions of households.
But like other streaming services, Disney has steadily increased prices over time, aiming to turn its streaming division into a profitable arm of the business.
In fact, Disney's streaming business turned a profit for the first time last year, which the company sees as a key win.
Despite that success, rising costs continue to be a sticking point for users, especially as competitors also increase their fees.
According to Reuters, this marks Disney's fourth straight year of price hikes. In December 2022, Disney+ imposed a 38% increase.
More increases followed in October 2023 and again in October 2024. Now, with another round set for October 2025, subscribers are left deciding if the service is still worth the cost.
While Disney has not commented directly on the recent cancellations or price frustrations, the company's website outlines all updated plans and bundles.
