PepsiCo is introducing a new kind of cola this fall designed for people who want to enjoy soda with a healthier twist.
The company announced Monday that Pepsi Prebiotic Cola, a soft drink with added fiber and less sugar, will be available online starting this fall and in stores early next year.
Each 12-ounce can will have just 30 calories, 5 grams of cane sugar, and 3 grams of prebiotic fiber—and it's made without any artificial sweeteners, USA Today said. The drink will be available in two tasty flavors: Original Cola and Cherry Vanilla.
"Pepsi Prebiotic Cola represents the next leap forward in giving consumers choice, optionality and functional ingredients in their cola experience, without sacrificing the iconic Pepsi taste we're known for delivering," said Ram Krishnan, CEO of PepsiCo Beverages US.
PepsiCo is launching the new drink to meet the rising demand for healthier beverage options. In recent years, more people have been looking for beverages that support gut health.
Prebiotic sodas—drinks made with special plant fibers that help good bacteria in the stomach—have become more popular. Brands like Poppi and Olipop led the way, and now PepsiCo is joining the trend.

Pepsi Taps Into Wellness Trend With Fiber-Infused Cola
This move comes just months after PepsiCo acquired Poppi, a top-selling prebiotic soda brand, for nearly $2 billion.
Poppi is known for mixing fruit juice, apple cider vinegar, and fiber into colorful, low-calorie cans of soda. Pepsi's entry into the space builds on that momentum.
According to CBS News, Future Market Insights says the global prebiotic soda market hit $262 million in 2024 and is expected to grow by 7.6% every year over the next ten years.
That's one reason why major companies like PepsiCo and Coca-Cola are jumping in.
Earlier this year, Coca-Cola joined the trend by launching its own prebiotic drink line called Simply Pop.
The launch of Pepsi Prebiotic Cola is part of a larger shift at PepsiCo toward functional and better-for-you products.
On a July 17 earnings call, PepsiCo CEO Ramon Laguarta said the company is planning more healthy items, including protein-enriched snacks and drinks.
PepsiCo also plans to remake popular snack brands like Lay's and Tostitos without artificial colors or ingredients.
"Consumers are adopting protein solutions in the diet at a pace that was not the case in a few months back, a few years back," Laguarta noted during the call.
Pepsi Prebiotic Cola will be sold in single cans and 8-packs.
