
It seems that not even the film industry can escape Donald Trump's tariffs as he announced a 100% tariff will be slapped on movies that are made outside the United States and then being brought into the country.
The move may be an effort to counter the incentives that other countries are providing filmmakers in order to produce their movies abroad.
"This is a concerted effort by other Nations and, therefore, a National Security threat. It is, in addition to everything else, messaging and propaganda," Trump said in a post on Truth Social, according to a report by Reuters.
Trump added, "WE WANT MOVIES MADE IN AMERICA, AGAIN!"

The US President even declared that "The Movie Industry in America is DYING a very fast death."
According to his post, he is authorizing related government agencies, including the Department of Commerce, to swiftly act on the 100% tariff.
In response, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said that the department is "on it."
