The Sony Xperia Z Ultra was confirmed to arrive in the coming months. The confirmation came by way of a pre-order for the device at retailer Unlocked Mobiles. The availability of the Xperia Z Ultra was set on September 12, 2013.

The Xperia Z Ultra specifications and features can also be confirmed through the pre-order. Sony's latest phablet will have a 6.44-inch Triluminos display. It will be powered by a Snapdragon 800 processor on Android 4.2. The Sony Xperia Z Ultra pre-order comes at GBP599.98, including VAT, and GBP499.98, excluding VAT.

Another website that was already taking pre-orders was Negri Electronics. The e-commerce site has purple and white models. Prices for the Sony Xperia Z Ultra start from US$799.

Sales figures for the previous version of Sony Xperia were high. In fact, its second quarter sales figures exceeded the forecasts of four analysts. The analysts, who were surveyed by Thomas Reuters, estimated profit to be JPY6.3 billion. However, the company reported an operating profit of JPY36.36 billion or US$369.68 million. This was also higher than the operating profit posted last year at JPY6.3 billion.
