In the latest quarterly report of Hewlett Packard, server shipment shares from across the globe fell significantly. According to Gartner, a research firm which performed analysis on the company, the drop was significant enough to warrant further investigation.

No clear culprit was pinpointed by HP for its massive loss. In recent market share reports, HP's loss did not grant any competitor big increases, meaning that the company's hold of the market was dispersed into all of its rival brands.

This is the second consecutive quarter where HP lost market share, according to initial data acquired by Gartner. The International Data Center verified the analysis of Gartner. The research firm's preliminary server share figures will be announced next week.

According to Gartner, HP's exact drop equaled 13.5% year over year. Hewlett Packard is yet to release any statement regarding this research.

Earlier this year, the company also posted a 15% drop in server shipments.
