Apple beefed up its total of enterprise sales by offering bulk deals of computer hardware and handsets to corporations. However, Apple's computers do not fit well with the cloud enterprise. The information technology sector continued to struggle while dealing with the Macintosh and the cloud technology.

In 2012, Apple released a report with 43.9% gross margin. The number increased from 2011's 40.5%. Yet, the company expected that the margins would decrease this year to a sub-40% figure.

Apple was able to sell between 3 million and 4 million iPhones in last year's fourth quarter. Nevertheless, analysts believed that just selling iPhones to corporations would result to diminishing returns. Apple's services, softwares and other sales amounted to US$3.4 billion. If the company wanted to generate more money from enterprises, it would need to improve its cloud enterprise and the services that it currently offers.

Also, the hardwares that Apple was able to sell to companies helped Google since iPhones could access Google Apps' email and several other productivity apps. If it wanted to get closer to Google's reported earnings, the Mac-maker must find new ways to grow.
