The latest rumors swirling around the next main installment in the "Grand Theft Auto" series suggest that the game will feature new weather elements. In addition, the development studio Rockstar Games is reportedly working on introducing a female lead character for GTA VI.

Past reports have already indicated that the upcoming game will feature a massive map that could represent the entire United States. This is highly possible since the maps featured in GTA games seem to be growing with every release. In GTA V, for example, Rockstar Games was able to include various areas and cities in the open world map of San Andreas.

But aside from the game's environment, the upcoming GTA VI could also feature natural disasters. As suggested by Autoomobile, Rockstar Games could include earthquakes, flash floods, tsunamis and even volcanic eruptions to bring up the chaos in the game to a higher level. Apart from contributing to the real-world effect of the game's open world setting, virtual natural disasters can also change the overall gameplay experience of players.

As for the characters of the game, Crossmap reported that it has been rumored that Rockstar Games is considering Ryan Gosling to provide the voice for the male protagonist of GTA VI. But, aside from the actor, the studio might also introduce a female lead which will reportedly be voiced by Eva Mendes.

It's not exactly clear how Mendes' name got attached to the game's development but it might have something to do with her current relationship with Gosling and her involvement in the "Fast and Furious" film series, which, like GTA, heavily revolves around cars. If rumors about a female lead in GTA VI are true, then it will be the first time in the series' history that gamers will be allowed to take on the game as a woman.

For now, GTA VI does not yet have an official release date but the game is expected to come out sometime between 2018 and 2020 for the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. According to Neurogadget, the upcoming game might not arrive for last-gen consoles such as the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 due to their technical limitations.
