Apple recently released iOS 9.2 to the public, marking the second major update to the iOS 9 operating system since its September launch. Before the update's release, iOS 9.2  has undergone testing after being seeded to developers and public beta testers.

According to MobileSyrup, the iOS 9.2 makes significant improvement to the performance of Safari WebViews, allowing the applications to launch a native web browser. This is done with all the standards compliance and security of a regular Safari window, inside third-party apps. It also let the users access Extensions such as 1Password from within apps that utilize native WebViews.

Forbes reported that the iOS 9.2 comes with bug fixes to the iOS devices like an improved stability of Podcasts. The update also resolves an issue for some users that cause attachments to overlap with the text in mail. Live Photos and contacts bugs are also addressed in this update. The former turns off after restoring from a previous iCloud backup while the latter causes search in Contacts to display no result.

Additionally, it fixes the Calendar problem that prevents the display of all seven days in week view; the Camera screen on iPad to be black when attempting to capture video; instability in the Activity app when viewing the day of Daylight Savings Time transition; the issue that prevent Wallet updates and Lock screen alerts from displaying; and the issue where some users are unable to login to Find my iPhone.

Also included in the update is a solution to the iPad keyboard bug that unintentionally trigger text selection mode. It has also fixes the issue on the Cyrillic keyboards where caps lock would be enabled when typing in URL or email fields. The concern on the VoiceOver when using Camera face detection, the speech rate of Speak Screen and the problem with Guided Access when trying to end phone calls are also addressed in the new OS.

In related news, CBS News stated that Apple also released smaller upgrades to the Apple Watch, new Apple TV and Mac OS X operating system. The Apple Watch update which is called watchOS 2.0 includes improved language support and bug fixes. It can be downloaded now in the Apple Watch app from the user's iPhone.

Apple's iOS 9.2 has been in developer testing since late October. Hopefully, this big update would provide no more room for bugs and issues to iOS devices.
