Longmire Season 5 Sep. 2016 Premiere Likely; Show to Get Longer, Darker and More Sinister-Themed Episodes

Modern day cowboy Longmire to return for fifth season on Netflix with longer airtime. Sheriff Walt Longmire to encounter more vicious cases and criminals in the next season.

Netflix's critically acclaimed action television series Longmire to air the fifth installment of the series with a more sinister nature. Longmire originally debuted in A&E with more than four million viewers but Season 3 hit with only 3.68 million viewers during the finale, as released by TV Series Finale. Longmire gained a targeted set of audience but lacks the younger category. Netflix picked up the series after A&E cancelled it for Season 4.

The boundless arrangement between Netflix and creative team of Longmire has established solid theme for the series, only on the fifth installment, the tone will be more sinister, violent, and tragic. Longmire Season 5 is will remain true to its origins based on the mystery novel entitled 'Walt Longmire Mysteries' written by best-selling author Craig Johnson.

Along with the uncensored theme and scenes, viewers can enjoy and savor Longmire Season 5 for a longer duration as Netflix extended its airtime. According to MNR Daily, the series added three hours more of footage to the total hours of for the fifth season.

Actor Lou Diamond Phillips, who plays Henry Standing Bear on Longmire, supported the claims on extended airtime and was grateful to Netflix. The additional 20 minutes to the 42 minutes regular airtime will give more room for the characters to develop their stories.

Earlier this year, rumors spread on Longmire Season 5 series crossover with another crime solving television series Criminal Minds. Carter Matt suggested that a hypothetical crossover between the two series is plausible since both are consistent to each other. But also weighed on the differences as both series are under different networks and has a different approach on solving crimes.

Despite many uncertainties, Robert Taylor who plays Sheriff Walt Longmire, Lou Diamond Phillips, Katee Sackhoff (Victoria 'Vic' Moretti), and Ally Walker (Dr. Donna Sue Monaghan), will definitely return on Longmire Season 5 set in September 2016.
